  • What does a Sterile Processor do?

    Sterile processing technicians play a critical position on healthcare teams or in manufacturing. In healthcare, you may clean, sterilize and prepare instruments and equipment in a hospital or surgery center. In the manufacturing field, you might ensure that food processing and packaging meets the high standards required to secure the safety of our food supply. You may work in a hospital, dental office, manufacturing plant or in agriculture production. It's a career with one focus but many opportunities.

    Our program introduces the primary responsibilities of a central sterile technician. You will learn about the preparation, storage and distribution of instruments, supplies and equipment. Instruction also covers quality assurance and inventory management. Upon successful completion, students are prepared to sit for the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam. Attending half-day, you can complete the program in two semesters. 

    Note: Students must be at least 18 years old to sit for the CRCST exam and complete clinical hours.
