Continue Your Education

Our students have a unique opportunity to further their education by earning an Associate of Science Degree (AS) or an Associate of Arts Degree (AA) from Washburn University.

Washburn University's School of Applied Studies offers coursework which leads to the completion of an associate degree. These programs require course work at both Washburn Tech and Washburn University.

For more information, contact Kathryn Stroebele, Washburn Tech's Director of Student Transitions, at 785.670.3370 or

What's the Cost?

Students transitioning from Washburn Tech to Washburn University in one of the designated programs are eligible for reduced tuition for the courses required for the associate degree.

You may start taking general education courses at Washburn University prior to graduation at Washburn Tech. However, you must have completed or be enrolled in at least 12 hours at Washburn Tech to receive the tuition discount for Washburn courses. Again, the discount applies only to Washburn courses required for completion of the associate degree.

Sky's the Limit

Washburn Tech students who complete an associate degree at Washburn University can continue their education to receive a bachelor’s degree and beyond at Washburn University. Students who wish to take courses at both campuses may take no more than 20 credit hours each semester.
