  • We offer training in health care, construction trades, manufacturing and the General Education Diploma (GED). We also offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. This project is a joint effort involving Washburn Tech, Washburn University, GO Topeka and JEDO and is operating in partnership with the East Topeka community.

    • Washburn Tech operating and staffing the facility
    • Healthcare programs include Certified Nurse Aide, Certified Medication Aide and Home Health Aide
    • Construction trades include Plumbing Technology and an evening Electrical Technology program
    • Manufacturing training through our Industrial Production Technology program
    • GED offering through the Accelerating Opportunity: Kansas (AO-K) program

    Opportunities at Washburn Tech East

    Washburn Tech East offers the career programs listed below as well as GED and ESL classes. Check-out our Fast Facts sheet for more information. All career pathways are included in the Accelerating Opportunity: Kansas program (AO-K) which is for students who are receiving both their GED and technical training. Costs are greatly reduced for AO-K participants. For students who already have their high school diploma, financial assistance is available.

    Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

    Hundreds of local leaders and community members turned-out to cut the ribbon and officially open this new, state-of-the-art facility. Construction crews have worked hard to complete the project. Check-out the amazing transformation of this facility at the corner of SE 21st and Washington.
