CMA Update

This course is designed for those who wish to renew their CMA certificate. The Medication Aide certification is valid for only two (2) years from the date of issuance. Prerequisites: Must be a Medication Aide with a CMA certification.

CNA Refresher

This course is for the person whose CNA certification is no longer active. This course consists of ten to fifteen hours of classroom and lab time, reviewing nursing assistant's knowledge and skills.

This is the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals CPR course. Adult, child and infant CPR will be covered as well as AED, choking and bag valve mask.

Anatomy & Physiology

This course is designed to provide attendees with a basic understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body through identifying and locating body structures and studying the function of these body structures. This is NOT a course for nursing students.

Medical Coding

Medical Billing and Coding is a fast-growing healthcare career. Students in this classroom course learn the fundamentals of medical coding and dissect real-world medical cases and charts to extract the most relevant information. Students will be trained in utilization of ICD 10 CM Book, CPT Book and HCPCS Book.

Medical Terminology

This course will covers identification, location and functionality of the anatomy organs within the human body. Also covered will be the terms used within the medical field to include:how terms are derived, spelled and pronounced; term meaning; and practical applications of term usage.

Washburn Tech Continuing Education is supported by tuition funds. Sessions are scheduled, supplies are ordered and instructors paid based on enrollment/tuition data.
