All incoming students to Washburn Institute of Technology are required to take the Accuplacer test, covering math and reading comprehension. Some programs require certain scores to be admitted into their program.

The office of Diversity and Inclusion provides reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities at Washburn Institute of Technology. Questions and concerns related to a student’s disability related academic accommodation should be immediately brought to the attention of the assistant director.
The UDI office services as Washburn Institute of Technology’s primary point of contact in initially reviewing student’s disability related academic accommodations and will consult with other offices across campus during the exploration process of accommodations and when addressing student’s concerns regarding the decision made in regards to accommodation requests.
While attending Washburn Institute of Technology students may live in a residence hall on the Washburn University campus. If you require Housing Accommodations those are managed by Residential Living Assistant Director. Dietary Considerations - Students with food allergies or that require a special diet please fill out the Student Accommodation Request Form with documentation. After approval, information will be sent to Residential Living regarding your request with instructions.
Animals are generally not permitted in Washburn Institute of Technology’s buildings with some exceptions, such as service animals, service animals in training, and assistance animals determined to be a reasonable accommodation. Service animals may be used by individuals with disabilities in order to participate in or gain access to programs, benefits, or services at the university.
Emotional Support Animals are an animal that provides personal comfort to an individual with a disability residing in Washburn Residential Living. It is accommodation for Residential Living only and not permitted in other areas of Washburn Tech.
