Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas leads the mechanical construction and service industry by developing and promoting the professionalism, cost-effectiveness and productivity of union construction and service through training, education and labor relations. Washburn Tech hosts several training sessions throughout the year.
The Midwest Training Center (MTC) provides training in current and emerging technologies in Climate and Energy Control Technologies. The Climate Control Center lab is one of the most technologically advanced in the country and is made possible through a private/public partnership with Trane and the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3).
National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) was established to address the need for strong industry partnerships with educational institutions in order to develop, implement and sustain industry-recognized portable certifications that have strong validation and assessment standards. Washburn Tech is proud to be part of this network of education providers and corporations.
Washburn Tech is proctored testing site for PowerSafe. PowerSafe is an integrated comprehensive safety orientation and verification system for utility contractors. PowerSafe Generation and PowerSafe T&D provide standardized and OSHA awareness-level safety orientations. The training is recorded in the PowerSafe database, which is easily validated through an auditable system and helps to end the unnecessary duplication of contractor training.
