LKQ Keystone Donates to Collision Repair Program

July 27, 2015

Topeka, Kan. – A donation from LKQ Keystone is driving more opportunities for auto collision students at Washburn Tech. The company has given product worth approximately $10,000 to Tech’s Auto Collision program. The donation, which includes sanding block kits and paint, allows Washburn Tech students to practice their skills and be even more prepared to successfully enter the collision industry.

“These products are something we have in our budget. However, not having to purchase them will free up money to buy other equipment and continue to update our facility,” said Eric Showalter, auto collision instructor, Washburn Tech. “This donation will have a big impact on our program.”

The gift from LKQ Keystone comes through the Collision Repair Education Foundation. Its mission is to secure and distribute charitable donations to support endeavors that promote, qualify and properly train those entering the collision industry. The foundation was established in 1991.
