Washburn Tech Resource Fair

August 22, 2014

Topeka, Kan. – Meaningful connections matter. That’s why Washburn Tech is hosting a Resource Fair from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, in the Conference Center at 5724 SW Huntoon. Set-up like a traditional career fair, the event will feature more than 20 local organizations that offer support, services and activities.

“During one of our Student Services team meetings, we discussed the fact that many students don’t know about the services available to them in Shawnee County or on the Washburn University and Washburn Tech campuses,” said Mark Wilson, Washburn Tech Navigator and Advisor. “The response from organizations, wanting to be part of the day, has been overwhelming. We’re looking forward to it.”

The list of participants includes:

  • ChildCare Aware of Eastern Kansas
  • Topeka YWCA
  • Housing and Credit Counseling Inc.
  • Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Department
  • SALT from Washburn University
  • Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library
  • Washburn University’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center
