
Machine Tool Technology program offers a 48 credit technical certificate that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to plan, manufacture, assemble, test, and repair parts, mechanisms, and machines. Instruction includes technical information in blueprint reading, sketching, angles, tapers, gearing, and precision measuring; it also includes hands-on training in the operation of machine tools--engine lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, computerized numerical control milling machines, and computerized numerical control lathe.
Full time students can complete the program in one year. Part time, including high school students, can complete the program in four semesters. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible to complete their associate's degree at Washburn University.
