
The Commercial and Heavy Construction Program offers a 43 credit technical certificate to post secondary students that introduces the basic skills used in commercial and heavy construction projects. The program is a challenging, career building educational experience for anyone who is serious about their future in construction. Courses are a combination of lecture and lab. Students have the opportunity for work-site experience utilizing skills with equipment acquired from the courses. At the completion of the program, students are eligible to become NCCER Certified Craft Technicians with the exception of Class B Commercial Driver's License, safety, pipelaying, and Heavy Equipment 2. Class B CDL is
an optional certification.
This is a one-year program for post secondary students. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible to complete their associate's degree at Washburn University.
