The Student Services Office at Washburn Institute of Technology offers many services for applicants and current students. An established application process makes for seamless transition from enrollment to admission. Easy access to vocational education is possible due to August and January start dates for most Day Program and Continuing Education courses.
Three full-time counselors are available to assist applicants through the application and enrollment processes. They are skilled in providing professional assistance to both traditional and non-traditional students. Of the current, approximately 800 day students, almost half are adult students re-entering the classroom environment. Washburn Tech counselors also monitor and support our students as they progress through their programs of study. Students with special needs are welcome, and there is always someone qualified to provide assistance.

Transfer of Credits
Individuals who want to transfer credits to Washburn Tech from another institution may submit a written request to the Associate Director of Student Services. The determination of whether to accept credits from another institution will be based upon many factors including the content/competencies of previous course work, the duration of previous course work, student attendance, grades earned in course work completed, and other criteria. Only those courses in which the individual earned a "C" or better will be considered for transfer credit.
Associate Degree Affiliations
Washburn Tech is pleased to offer articulation agreements with all Kansas community colleges as well as with Washburn University in Topeka. This allows coursework from most Washburn Institute of Technology programs to transfer toward an associate degree from the above institutions. The agreement with Washburn University also provides reduced tuition to Washburn Tech graduates. Our students are encouraged to obtain additional education and training whenever possible. This enhances marketability, employability, and retention in the workplace.
