National Technical Honor Society

Washburn Institute of Technology (Washburn Tech) has an affiliation with the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). NTHS recognizes students that display outstanding academic achievement, meet high attendance standards, service in the community, leadership characteristics, good citizenship, and career development.

NTHS Criteria

Outstanding Scholarship

A or B Average

Excellent Attendance

540 hour student <=18 hours absent
810 hour student <=27 hours absent
1080 hour student <=36 hours absent
1200 hour student <=40 hours absent

Leadership qualities

Participation in activities demonstrating leadership

Good citizenship

Recent volunteer work, community service (long-term)

Financial responsibilities

All school bills paid

Plans to enter field of training

Career/educational goals in same field

Completed one-half training

Nomination is made during last semester of program

Selection

Twice a year the NTHS Selection Committee reviews all nominations. Final selection is made by the committee with the approval of the Washburn Institute of Technology administration
