Beginning Crochet I


Course Description

Great for the beginning crocheter with absolutely no experience, as well as a refresher course for those who haven't picked up a hook in awhile. How to make a slip knot, chain, single crochet, and double crochet will be taught. Yarn, hook sizes, and reading patterns will also be lightly discussed. Project will include a 7x9 inch rectangle, and students will be taught how to make a blanket using what they learn. Materials: Worsted weight yarn in a light, bright color with a smooth texture (such as I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby, Caron Worsted Acrylic, or Red Heart Super Saver), size H (5mm) and I (5.5mm) crochet hooks, a yarn needle, small scissors, and something to write with.
